You bring us an item or items of value to either sell us outright or borrow money against as collateral. Borrowing money on an item is called a pawn or loan. We evaluate your item and if we agree on a price, we pay you cash on the spot.
Four of our five pawn shops are located on Federal Hwy (US1) as far north as Hillsboro Blvd and as far south as State Road 84. Each of those four stores are located about one mile from the beach and Atlantic Ocean. Our fifth store is located in Lauderhill on State Road 7 (441). All five pawn shops are located in what is considered some of the safest neighborhoods in South Florida.
Pawns are done on a 30 day (monthly) basis with a 30 day grace period (60 days). We loan you money and hold your item as collateral in a secure area. You can come back in 30 days or less to redeem (reclaim) your item when you repay the loan plus a fee (finance and service charge) or simply pay the extension fee and renew your item for another 30 days. There is no limit on how many times you can renew.
Yes. We store most pawned gold and jewelry items in a bank vault safe deposit box for the highest security possible. Yes we are insured by Lloyds Of London.
You are under no obligation to redeem your pawned item. After 60 days if you have not made an extension payment, by law the item is forfeited and becomes our property. It is then treated as if you sold us the item outright. This will not affect your credit nor will it affect your status withBrowardPawnShops.com. In certain circumstances, we will agree to extend the 60 day forfeiture period. This is done on a case by case basis. If needed, loan customers are encouraged to call us or email us to communicate that they may need more time.
We charge between 5% and 25% per month as regulated by the State Of Florida. The amount we charge is based on the amount of the loan and the actual item itself. The physical size of an item is a factor. We may lower the fee if the item is redeemed in a shorter time period.
Since we pay you in cash, we prefer to be paid back in cash. In some cases, when renewing a pawn, we sometimes accept credit cards, checks, money orders and bank wire transfers. Cash is almost always required when redeeming an item.

No. There is no minimum and we handle seven figure transactions. Large diamonds, gold/platinum jewelry, gold/platinum coins, certain watches and rare items can sometimes bring those larger amounts.
Our vast experience in the pawn business is one way. Most gold is based on what it weighs, what karat (purity) it is (9K, 10K, 14K, 18K, 22K, 24K) and what the price of gold is that day. Most platinum and silver is determined on a similar basis. Whether the item is designer jewelry, signed jewelry or custom made is a determining factor. Diamond values are determined by the 4C’s and the current market. Watch values are determined by the current resale market. General merchandise values are determined by the current resale market. The condition of an item (new or used) is a large factor in determining it’s value.
We can test your gold free of charge by using an acid test. We accept any form of gold, whether it be jewelry (broken or not), coins or bars.
We can test your diamond free of charge with our electronic diamond tester.
We can determine authenticity of most watches immediately. Sometimes it may be necessary to open a watch and inspect the movement to determine it’s authenticity.
